Special Programs at The Dance Affair
In addition to dance classes, The Dance Affair offers first wedding dance choreography and lessons, privates for all different dance genres, Hatha yoga, Preschool of the Arts, and studio rentals in San Jose. These special programs enrich our current families' experience and allow more community members to get enrolled.

First Wedding Dance
These lessons are by appointment only. You can schedule a 60-90 minute lesson.
The lessons are taught by our lead instructors; Indie or Erica. The cost for a one time lesson (by the hour) is $120/ 60 minute lesson and $160/ 90 minute lesson.
If you would like to schedule more than one lesson, the price per lesson will decrease:
one (1 hour) lesson $120 – includes any music editing
two (1 hour) lessons $190– paid in advance, includes any music editing
three or more (1 hour) lessons $250 – paid in advance, includes any music editing
The average couple usually needs 2 or 3 lessons.
You select the music that you would like to use and we will choreograph the dance according to your specifications. We can edit the music to your liking as well… for example, there may be certain sections you want to lengthen or shorten in the music. You would also need to let us know if this is something for experienced or beginning dancers.
Ladies – Please keep in mind your wedding dress and what you will be able to do in it, and your shoes that you will wear to dance in.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are offered at the dance affair upon request from the Dance Affair student or contact. These sessions are beneficial when a student wishes to advance their skills, practice one on one with a specific teacher or work on a particular technique or dance.
You may also wish to do semi-private lessons with a friend, family member or small group.
We will facilitate your request and match you with a teacher of your choice or one that suits your dance needs.
The prices listed below are the base price per lesson. Each teacher may have a minimum/maximum wage they require per lesson. Students will be given the teacher-required price per lesson before making the decision to accept the private lesson cost.

Preschool of The Arts
The Dance Affair’s Pre School of the Arts Program for was established in 1986. We offer a very “back-to-basics” program with an emphasis on the arts and social development.
Preschool for the Arts is a half-day, two-times-a-week program for children ages 3-5, focusing on the fine arts. In addition to preparing students for Kindergarten, Preschool for the Arts incorporates an introduction into the fine arts through daily offerings in Dance, Music, Art, and Tumbling. Our curriculum is designed to be a perfect blend of play-based learning and academic readiness. Therefore, our students start Kindergarten with the skills necessary to be confident and successful in the years to come.
A safe place to hang out with your friends, be creative, and have lots of fun!
Classes currently meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am -12 noon and are taught by Ms Lorelei Van Fossen.
Hatha Yoga
Join our community based yoga class that incorporates Hatha Yoga and Alignment with gentle stretch and conditioning.
The class is taught by Erica Fairfield, RYT500.
With over 700 hours in certification training, Erica has been teaching Yoga for over 10 years. She has been teaching classes to adults and children throughout the southbay area. Classes can be taught privately or in a group setting.
Designed for those who need to move slowly, mindfully and energetically. Gain more mobility and muscle strength. Feel better about yourself! Work within your body limitations.
Community Classes meet on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. 45 min Classes are always free. Donations are accepted.
Tuesday 9:05am 45 min class $20 includes Babysitting
